Saturday — Nov. 18th
Rather windy, cloudy and chilly when we got started at 11 am but as the day wore on, it cleared and the winds died down. Pretty nice for November. What a turn out, 130 entries and because of the nice car count we raced til 4 pm. 63 entries got into the free no entry race which paid $1,000.00 to win. Brandon Skelly took the win after having three runner up finishes with us this year. A really good day!
Sunday — Nov. 19th
The final day of the 2023 racing season. Nearly perfect weather, clear skies almost no wind, perfect race weather. The Junior Dragsters took the track right at 9 am. We had ten entries and in the final, Madison Boyd won out over Conner Boyd, Abagail Boyd was third. At 10:30 am the big cars took the track. Pro had Ted Leatherwood winning over Boyd Mathias, Mike Rodgers took third place. Super had Bill Wilkinson winning over Mark Decker, Bill’s first win here at Mason Dixon, his driving and the Nova were excellent today! Sportsman had young gun Caleb Pedicord over Lin Bowie. Caleb just started driving Jim Pedicord’s Falcon in the last couple of weeks and has it figured really well too. Trophy was won by Dru Feeley over Liz Bailey. Thanks again to Steve Dickey for helping out with the announcing, it’s always more fun when he is here! We finished up the day and year at 4 pm.
Another season in the books, aside from some rain outs and a few races with shaky weather forecasts of storms that never materialized we had another good year. as always we thanks our racers, their family and crew members, our track sponsors and our dedicated race fans, we can’t do this without your support. Now about our track owners and my track co-workers. We have the best people going to run the racing programs here at Mason Dixon Dragway, It is a pleasure to work with my co-workers week in and week out. Looking forward to 2024 already! Keep checking our website as the schedule will start to come together quickly. Have a great Holiday season and a safe off season, see you in March!!
