Saturday  —  Nov. 4th
Perfect weather for our Test & Tune event and the warm up race for our Harry Huntzberry Stock / Super Stock race greeted our racers and race fans. We got underway with the racing at 11 am sharp. We had more than enough Test & Tune racers to have our no entry fee 1/8 mile $1,000.00 to win race, in the final Dahryl Clark won out over Rick Wenger. Dahryl piloted his friend Don Morgan’s Duster to a string of dead on high 6.40 runs. Well done. The Stock / Super Stock race Bernie Staub winning over John Lattimore. Bernie was on it all day, a .002 light in qualifying got him round one bye and then two more double .00 in eliminations got him to the winners circle. Bernie’s ride is a stunning 66 Plymouth Belvedere that he has owned for about 45 years. This was a great day of racing, cars were fast on a great track and good air helped too. We finished up at 4 pm.
Sunday  —  Nov. 5th
Ok, the main event. We got underway right at 11 am, a couple of degrees warmer and sunny temps reaching mid 60’s, not bad for November! How about Modern Muscle presented by Josh McCoy’s Auto Sales, Chambersburg. Pa. There were ten entries, most ran 9’s and in the final the two fastest cars with Jake Landes in his Corvette running a 9.40 @ 144 mph to win out over Joe Stanley in his Dodge Hellcat who ran 9.50 @ 144 mph. This class is fun to watch and will grow bigger next year. Now the Stock / Super Stock race. We had some breakage but we did have 33 cars in round one. In the final veteran Hagerstown Md. racer Larry Mohar won out in final in his G/SA 67 Camaro over Herbie Null piloting one of the Huntzberry team SS/GT cars. Larry was .016 on the tree, Herbie -.001 red, close! The all run 1/8th mile Gamblers race had 39 entries, Courtney Upole won over Bill Wilkinson in the final. Bill was .005 at the tree but broke out in this close race. Dave Murrin and Scott Vaughn were the semi racers. JR Baum had his ‘Hells Hemi’ SS/AH 68 Dodge Dart making two strong passes, 8.47 then an 8.44 both @ 158 mph. We finished up just after 4 pm. A huge thanks to all that competed, Josh McCoy Auto Sales, The Huntzberry family, all the family and crew members and especially to the nice turn out of our loyal race fans! How about the great racing and show from the Stock / Super Stock drivers, almost all the cars do big wheel stands, all were fast and the racing really good, plenty of close runs. Also another race day with really good working track! A really good day / weekend!
