Saturday. — April 11th
Stunning weather temps in the mid 60’s as we got underway, on this very well attended Street Nite, the firsst of nine scheduled this year. We got underway at 11:30 am with all racers getting two time shots. Quick 16 was well attended the bump at 5.42. All four semi racers were four second cars. Jeremy Curry took the win over Bill Stevens, Jerry Williams and Lin Bowie were the semi racers. Nasty 9’s had14 entries Dan Ryntz over Steve Kurimchak, the Index was a fast 9.70. Mordern Muscle was won by Greg Orris over Keith Custer. 5.90 Index had Mike McNew over Will Woodward. 6.50 was won by Rick Wenger over Joey Harrison. 7.10 Index had Richie Oates over Ron Vito. Pro winner Jess Goodman over Jamie Talbert, first win for Jess on Street Nite! Sportsman had Glen Estelle over Bruce Garber. Tammy Gray took the win in her Malibu in Drive In Street over Carlton Thornton. The 3 demons gang were with us giving rides in their Demon 170 cars to military veterans. What an honor to have these great veterans with us tonight. We had 161 entries and lots race fans with us…..we thank you for supporting racing at Mason Dixon Dragway! We finished up about 6:45 pm.
Sunday. — April 12th
Weather excellent again, mid 60’s. We got underway at noon. A big day, 130 entries. How about a record ten racers made license run a plus Ace and his Dad Mike Blueford did the license runs for Junior Street, he did them perfect and his Camaro ran mid 9’s in the1/8 mile well done. The Gamblers race…..team Decker with Mark driving his high four second dragster in mid season form winning the six round race defeating Rodney Eichelberger
in the final, Mary Bannister was third. Though scheduled til 4 pm we raced til about 5:30pm. Another really good event!
Thanks goes to the 3 Demons for being with us Saturday, the drivers Josh Winters and Dennis Collins. Supporting staff members are Brad Herell, Rob Bell, Nick Pepper, Melanie Winters and Sierra Henry. Steve Dickey was with us Saturday doing a good bit of announcing, great having him with us for sure. How about Friends of Mason Dixon Dragway Facebook page now having over 12,000 members and growing.
