Ok here we go…. I hope I don’t miss much here…. The racing was terrific, the skill levels of the racers in all the classes is amazing, great job by all the competitors. Besides one engine failure the racers cars held up well with minimal cleanups. The track prep was excellent each day. Monster wheel stands and quick passes were the norm. The race ran almost rapid fire each day with about 1150 racers competing over four days. It seemed like great cooperation and helpfulness between racers regardless of which team they ran for. How about the large amount of racers that reached finals more than once over the four day event. Ok who won and how it came about. At one point team Mason Dixon had a 17 point lead, normally totally insurmountable but slow but sure team Summerduck kept chipping away. In Pro and Super all four Summerduck cars reached the finals. This created a 93 to 93 tie. The tie breaker was class wins with Summerduck having two. A huge congratulations to team Summerduck racers for there huge come from behind win. The points were SD 93 MD 93 KD 65 BS 61 SM 45. A big thank you Gary Gore and Hayne Dominick founders of the SBRA for their help. Timmy Campbell was with us and helped in the lanes. The total team effort from my Mason Dixon Dragway co workers…they are the BEST at what they do. I had terrific announcer help from Steve Dickey on Wednesday. Butch Long, Mike Natoli Elmer Wachter announced each day and a surprise visit from Dave McMeans who shared the Mike all day Saturday. Many racers looked out for our staff bringing lunches and dinners to us all four days. Let’s not forget the track owners for giving us a place to race and great racing events like this one. This definitely was a first class event, thanks to all that participated this week. We are still racing for a few more weeks. Come back and visit when you can!
