This was our annual Mid Maryland Ford event and it was a good one. First the weather nearly perfect with sunshine and temps in the low 80’s. Very early a large number of show cars and vendors were all set up for the day. The folks at Mount Lena Pool set their food stand up featuring breakfast sandwiches and burgers and fries and more. They do a great job every year. Drag racing got underway at 11:30 am with four classes each getting two time runs. Pro was the biggest class with Dan Ryntz winning over Courtney Uphole. Super had George Hoff over Dennis Hammond. Street Ford was won by Chris Waters over Ralph Gravel. Lastly Trophy was won by Terry Gates over Bobby Wood. A special match race had Mark Decker defeating his wife Jennifer. They did this last year, Jennifer won that one. This was definitely a very good event, lots of show cars, vendors and race fans attended the event. Bill Smith did a RFC chapel service about 10 am. Always great to have Bill with us. As always we had a great hard hooking track. The whole event ran smoothly with our entire staff doing their usual great work. We thank all the show car and vendor people, the racers and all their family and crew members too for making this Ford show a really good one.
Ok, the busy part of the schedule coming right now, Labor Day weekend starting Friday night, SBRA bracket racing, Saturday Sunday and Monday. Street Nite Mutt and Jeff big dollar racing, Savage Series event and Rob Keister .90 event all coming up in September. See you at Mason Dixon Dragway this weekend!
