Friday. — July 4th Independence Day
This was a Test & Tune event in nearly perfect weather low 80’s and low humidity that got underway at 6pm. How about 144 entries and a nice turn out of race fans. At about 8:30 we called for the no entry fee Gamblers Race cars to the lanes with 98 racers going for the $1,000.00 to the winner. The final was run about 11:15pm with Rocky Moore driving Rick Quessenberry’s Cavalier over Eric Bowles. This was a really good evening for sure.
Saturday. — July 5th
Now a bit warmer and more humid but still pretty good mid summer weather. Junior Dragsters took the track at 12 noon with 24 entries. Cole Rudy won out over Laney Thomas with Braelin Bowie taking third place. The big cars took over at 2:30pm with a really nice turnout of racers. Pro had 112 entries with Wayne Skelly winning out over Dale Hamilton. Super had 92 entries and Brandon Lowe over Nick McGowin. Trophy was won by Christian Kelican over Jason Burrier. By the way both Super and Pro each paid the winners a cool $3,000,00. We finished up about 11:15 pm.
Sunday. — July 6th
Last day, now it got warmer and muggy too. Temperature hit 90 degrees later in the day. Junior Dragsters took the track at 9am with 22 entries and it was Noah Dustin over Dakota Henry with Bella Henry taking third spot. The big cars took over at 11:30 am. Pro had yesterday’s winner Wayne Skelly repeating with a big win over Chris Crawford. Super had Brian Morrison over Cory Maloney. Trophy was won by Carroll Gamber over Josh Sisk. We finished up about 5pm.
