Saturday – April 12th
This was to be our first SBRA and Summit ET series events with Southern Outlaw Top Sportsman, Outlaw Pontiacs and ECIR racers with us but the rains and cold forced us to cancel.
Sunday. – April 13th
Weather no problem today partly cloudy skies and temps hit about 60 degrees. The Junior Drgsters kicked off the day about 10am. We had 17 cars in competition with Shane Dailey winning over Gavin Cramer. The semi racers were Calvin Weaver and Harley Ely. By the way Lydia Shipley made her license runs, mostly mid 10 second passes all looked really good. Her dad Fred Shipley and both daughters McKenna and Lydia will all race with us this year, welcome aboard! About 12:15 the big cars took the track. Everyone made two time runs. In Pro it was Landon Howdyshell over Cliff Peddicord. In Super it was Ken Dick over Kevin Maupin. SOTS had Kevin Maupin defeating Marcus Henry. Last class was Sportsman with Roger Dalton Sr over Ed Talbert. Great racing all day and evening by all drivers. We finished up at 9pm under the lights. 193 racers competed in this event. well done everyone!
Notes on this event…..it really went well, the track was spot on, low ET was Doug Farace in his supercharged Vette, 4.38 @ 161 mph. We had some on track breakage but was handled quickly. The racers put on a show, dead close races round after round. I had great announcer help from Steve Dickey earlier in the day and Butch Long the later part of the event also Elmer Wachter jumped in ant times also. These three know their stuff. All other staff members were on their game for sure. We thank all our racers, crew and family members, our great track sponsors and lastly our track management and staff. Excellent start of the 2025 season! Next Saturday is our first Street Nite event, qualifying starts at noon. See you at Mason Dixon Dragway!
