Saturday  —  Sept. 7th
We got lucky with this one, stubborn rain showers moved in early in the morning but cleared out in the early afternoon in plenty of time for our 5 pm start time of this well attended Test & Tune event. We got going on time with everyone making plenty of passes down the Mason Dixon quarter mile. We did have three separate down track clean ups to contend with and as always are gang got after them quickly so we could get back to racing. Some good performances….Greg Orris and his Demon 170 finally figuring out to make this beast hook, he laid down two 9.26s and a 9.27 @ 147 mph in a matter of ten minutes, all three were 1.34 60 ft times. Richie Burns and 66 Chevy Nova, a stick small block Pro Charger car did some big wheel stands and ran a 9.44 @ 146 mph, this is a wicked street car for sure. We did a no entry fee Gamblers Race getting underway about 7 pm. We had 50 entries with Tony Gruver getting the win, his first ever, over Brad James, well done! We finished up the Test & Tune right at 10 pm, but stayed til about 10:20 pm to finish up the Gamblers race. We thank all the racers, crew and family members and our loyal race fans for coming out and supporting this race. This weekend, Test & Tune Friday night, The big Street Nite race Saturday, qualifying at 3 pm, Two Quick 16 fields, MD275 heads up cars, Modern Muscle, Nasty 9s, 5.90, 6.50, and 7.10 Index classes, Pro, Sportsman and Drive-In Street all contested.
