Saturday — May 18th
Once again overnight rain and rain showers that continued into the early afternoon forced to cancel the Street Nite event
Sunday — May 19th
This was the 40th annual Mopar meet and this event had no weather issues, cloudy early then sunshine and temps that topped out in the mid 70’s. Early on Mopar fans, show cars and drag racers rolled in to enjoy this excellent event. The show car field had 80 excellent show cars, their were many parts vendors and our friends from the Mt. Aetna Fire Company set up their tent and served up hot dogs, hamburgers and French fries all day long. Now for the racing, we got underway just before noon with everyone receiving two time runs. The Super cars had many time winner Mike Daymude win over Kevin Moore in the final, Caleb Kline took third place. The biggest class, Pro with 43 entries was won by Ken Dick over Caleb Kline, Liz Bailey took third place. Sportsman was won the Kevin Grasson over Dylan Moyer third spot going to Brian Dubbs. Trophy class was won by Tommy Fogle over Adam Hackler. And lastly our Slant Six gang had Andrew Shank winning over Ken Ackerman. Great racing by all, there 120 total race entries today, excellent turnout for sure. We finished up the day about 5:45 pm. A big shout out to everybody that worked the event, the car show staff, our on track staff, both food stands staffers and everyone that contributed to keep the day going smoothly. How about our remodeled second food stand building, breakfast sandwiches were sold from there today but more things in the near future such as had dipped ice cream and soft ice cream will coming out of there too. Oh, and as always, we can’t do this with the support of our great race and car show fans….thank you all!
