Saturday — April 6th
This was a Test & Tune event along with the East Coast Impala racers running a double header race. It was chilly with temps in the low 50’s at best, windy too. Everyone made many passes, everyone was fast too. With the ECIR cars Glen Koenig won both races, Jason Butler was runner up in race one and Brian Stokes in race two. We did run the no entry $500.00 to winner take all race. Car C166 the beautiful Dodge Charger won, I missed the drivers name, I’ll post it later, Darious Wenger was 2nd place. Laura Foreman licensed in her dragster, 7.93 @ 169 mph, well done! We had 78 cars, we finished up at 4 pm. A good day.
Sunday — April 7th
This was a nicer day and the car count jumped to 123 entries for the Test & Tune event. We had 74 cars enter the $1,000.00 winner take all race, Lin Bowie’s Corvette roadster was dialed in with mid 4.90 runs in the 7 round race defeating Colby Imes in his Demon. Keith Warner was third. Josh Sisk licensed in his Chevy dragster, last run 8.93 @ 147 mph. Way to go Josh! We added extra time to the day, finishing up at 5 pm. A really good day.
A few thoughts. Once again we had a dynamite track for our racers this weekend. We had a really busy weekend, we had NHRA chassis certification with 98 cars getting through the process, food stand really busy, fuel trailer also busy, Cheryl’s Shirt Shack open both days, with more new stock and our friend Steve Dickey announcing a good bit on Saturday. Once again our track staff did a great job all weekend, a pleasure to work with this bunch for sure. A good, fun weekend. This weekend, Summit ET Series races both days, Outlaw Pontiacs, Model A cars and Southern Outlaw Top Sportsman cars on Saturday, See you at Mason Dixon Dragway this weekend!
