Saturday  —  April 13th
We cancelled today due very high winds that would have made it unsafe to race. We moved everything to the next day.
Sunday  —  April 14th
Way better day, temps hit 80 degrees with lighter winds, actually a bit humid for so early in the spring. We got underway right at 9:30 am as scheduled with a 22 car field of our Junior Dragster racers. In the final Mallory Dietz took the win over Tripp White while Connor Boyd took third place. A very good start for our Summit ET Junior Dragster racers. At 11:30 am we got underway with the Outlaw Pontiacs, this was their first points race of the year. In the final it was last years points series winner Chuck Hutzler over Chad Ely, Paul Beard and Jeff Raff were the semi racers. A big part of the day was the first ever Southern Outlaw Top Sportsman racers event at our track. They brought 45 entries of very fast door cars putting on a great show for our race fans today. They had 19 cars running in the fours over the 1/8th mile. In their eliminations they ran a Quick 16 with a rocket fast 4.86 bump. In the end Mark Decker took the win over Doug Farrace, Sherman Terrence took third spot. These racers brought great cars that were fast and ran straight, they were a pleasure to work with for sure. Our Super Pro class had a nice field of 45 cars, in the end it was Brian Morrison over Mark Decker, Jason Amey and Colby Imes were the semi racers. Pro was the bigger class, 53 entries and Dylan Moore won out over Kaleb Kline, Kelly Flemming took third place. Sportsman was won by Ed Talbert over David Myers. Trophy was won by Liz Bailey over Lane Baker. We finished up the day at 8:10 pm.
This was our opening day of Summit ET series points races and it went well, we did do two time runs which did stretch the day out some. Many racers were making their first passes of the year and two passes probably helped them. Once again we had a  dynamite race track that handled some really fast cars, low ET of the day 4.44 @ 160 mph. Track staff was busy doing a great job all day, running the event, the front gate, tech, handling the traffic at the food stand, the fuel trailer and Cheryl’s shirt shack, the pay out office, time slips, tower staff, everywhere on the property, great job! A big thanks to our loyal race fans, plenty showed up supporting drag racing at Mason Dixon Dragway, can’t do this without them. Also a shout to all the racers, family and their crew members, they are the show week in and week out. Ok, hope to see everyone this weekend at Mason Dixon Dragway!
