Cathy Wachter was the heart and soul of Mason Dixon Dragway, a fixture at the track since the 1980s, where she and Elmer poured their passion into making it a home for racers, fans, and families alike. Whether greeting newcomers with a warm smile or catching up with longtime racers, Cathy had a way of making everyone feel like they belonged. For decades, she was not just the boss—she was a mother, a friend, and a source of unwavering support for all. Week after week, she shared stories, laughter, and encouragement, creating lasting memories with thousands of racers and their loved ones. Her presence was as much a part of the track as the roar of engines and the rush of competition.

As we prepare for the 2025 season, we do so with heavy hearts, knowing that Cathy’s absence will be deeply felt. Her unexpected passing was a tremendous loss to our entire community, but the outpouring of love and support we’ve received has been a powerful reminder of the family we have built here. Though the void she leaves behind can never truly be filled, we are committed to carrying forward the spirit and passion she brought to the dragway. Racing is more than just a sport—it’s a bond that connects us all, and we look forward to continuing that tradition together, honoring Cathy’s legacy every step of the way.
